My Creative Space - First Steps in Art Journaling

These are the stages of preparing a notebook to be my first ever art journal (whatever it means) :)

Have never thought, I'd return to paper - the medium of my childhood. Thanks to Effy Wild's generosity I'm participating in her e-course "The Elements of Art Journaling".  Registration is still open here

Having dual feelings about what I'm doing right now:
- thrilled to learn and do something new, to meet Effy and other sweet creative ladies, to forget everything over playing with my stash,
- guilty for the "waist" of supplies, time, energy just to play and grow (seemingly nothing for my classes, for sale or to wear) ...
Don't like the last ones and don't think they have any alibi to crap up my well deserved fun, but they just show me something I thought to be long gone: the fear of "wasting" and lacking of something afterwards...
Back to "work" now :)

What a lovely return to paper. I love the way you layered and added awesome color at the end. This is gorgeous.

I am enjoying this process, Rita: I kept art journals for a long while (much less organized than yours seem to be!! But i have enjoyed just this week looking back at them. I know the feeling all to well. I have real trouble making anything for myself, for example, everything "should" go to the shop... It's gotten to the point where I've lost my creativity because of that feeling. :/

Good for you for trying something (kind of) new and fun, don't let that inner voice win! ;) We all need time for ourselves.

Oh, I hope you overcome that fear! You've created such an inspiring space for journaling--certainly that wasn't a waste!
