Artistic Challenges

It's the last day of May, so it's really time to show, what I've accomplished for the Creative Color Challenge . Here you go: one fairy tree almost finished...
... and some more in the works.
And some more paintings started in the given palette, but than other colors added.

And this is, how I feel about artistic challenges with a given palette or object:
- on one side, they keep me going, t.i., arting, trying out something I might not without them,
- on the other side, the more planning, the less freedom, the less fun and productivity for me :(

So I'm happy and thankful for the ones I've participated in, especially - for the 29 faces challenge, but I'm happy they are over and might not participate in them any more...

As Thursday is the day of Creative Spaces jump over to this site and be ready for an inspirational blast!

Gorgeous trees Rita. I know what you mean about challenges, I try to pick ones that are just a prompt, to get a little inspirational starting point :D XXX

Love your fairy tree, and are those cherry blossoms? Beautiful work, but I know, just speaking for myself, I can get caught up in too many challenges, and I get behind, then nervous or aggrivated... Or like you say, then I just can't do what I really feel like doing instead. I just try to be careful to pace myself as best I can. Like Christmas, I can't expect Santa to bring me EVERYTHING I WANT (0; And when it comes to swaps/groups/classes, I CAN'T DO everything I want. I WISH I could, but I'm o.k. with it! Right now, I'm just a newbie, and all I want is a nice set of paint brushes! I'm working on that... Have a great day! ((hugs)) ~tina

Really, really beautiful pieces Rita. I understand what you mean about challenges. Sometimes it's good to reassess and figure out why we're participating in certain ones and if they serve a purpose for us. Some do, some don't.... Have a lovely week.

Your work is so beautiful! I have mixed feelings about challenges, too. But I do like that they push me a bit to create more art, even when I might be feeling lazy or distracted by other things. We need to have time to listen to our own voice, though, and keep balance. Good luck!
