Dabbing & Doodling

There is not much to show off. For the last 5-6 days, a heat wave is my main excuse.

Temperatures next to +30C are really hard to bear here in the North. Thank goodness, it's starting to cover up and chill down today!

But I'm still playing in my diary at least a bit every day. This is the page finished today.

I'm not particularly happy with it, but I love, that after not touching any art supplies for almost a year, it all feels new to me again.

And I don't know, for how long I will do it in these old altered books, as the pages are definitely too fragile for my method of working in many layers and using a fair amount of water.

We are having a heatwave, too, with temperatures about to climb higher for the next week. So hard to do anything besides sit in front of the fan!

I love the colors on your diary page! What white pen/marker did you use to draw over the color. It looks great!

Thanks, Kim! It's an UniPosca marker, but I'm not a big fan of them: they clog too fast.

I love your colors Rita. Ive heard people say they glue together 4 or 5 pages of old books to get the durability for all the layers and water. I like how you say it feels new again after a whole year away from making art. Stay cool sister.

I like your pages - pretty good for jumping back in. I like the white drawing on the background. Have you ever tried the big white Faber-Castell marker - I love it.

Beautiful colour against that textures of the text and lines of the drawing.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful feedback and support!

Little Drum Dreams: I have glued the pages together already, and primed, but the pages are more than 50 years old and still too fragile.

I love to see how you add colour and shape to your pages. It's also inspiring to see how you do a little each week. It reminds me that I don't really have an excuse for leaving my art supplies untouched.
