Starting Anew

Hi, my loyal readers!

I'm really sorry for not posting regularly and not at all for the past two months. And I really appreciate your loyalty and understanding.

The case is, I needed some time to dive deep into my core being to figure out what's the next thing to do for me.

It wasn't easy, but I had great helpers, GP Walsh being the most substantial one of them. Hence the logo of his wonderful course on top of my side bar.

The Great Spirit literally saved my life through Greg's teaching a couple of times, and provided me with vital help and understanding of Who I Really Am.

Words fail me to express, how thankful I am for that.

And, now, I'm back here and ready to share regularly again. As I'm more in writing than painting right now, there might be more to read than to look at in the next future here. But we'll see, right?

Actually, I have painted (it was more playing with pigments than painting to be honest) last week, so there is something I can show you this time. :)

And, now, I'd absolutely love to hear, what you have been up to lately. :)

Please, leave a comment with as little as one word or as much as a whole paragraph about what has been in the focus of your attention for the first month of this year. OK?

She Can Be Back Any Time

Since July, there was a dry period in my creative life. For the first couple of months, I felt really blue.

I wasn't even very surprised about that after a pretty stressful first half of the year with my youngest son graduating and preparing for the art school.

In September, I could at least knit again. But all those months went by almost without painting or collaging.

And I felt pretty bad about all the papers and supplies laying around here and just taking space. It felt very probable, that I could never get back to it. Even this morning.

But, lo and behold! This afternoon I re-started to paint and collage again! And it felt like I would have never stopped!

I'm not sure, if it is back as a daily practice for me or just an episode. But there is something I want to remember for every moment my muse is hiding:

SHE CAN BE BACK ANY TIME!

I would be really happy to hear about your experience with your muse? Does she sometimes hide from you? And how do you handle it?

My Creative Space - Inspired by Angels and Canvas from a Chocolate Box

At the beginning of this week we had a heat wave in our country and I was pretty much occupied with finding and applying remedies for my pancreatitis flair. On Friday, my sister and her son visited us, and we had some good time together in spite of a pain attack I had by the end of their visit. As I had to take it really easy not to trigger more pain attacks, I spent most of the time inside: at the computer, watching The Tudors and reading. On Sunday, I stumbled upon this great offer by Sherry Ann Ponzi and joined the fun. By the way, it's still open to any price you can/want to pay. As soon, as I got access to the workshop materials, I went through all the videos and a a guided meditation "Visiting the Well of Creative Inspiration". They inspired me so much, that I started a painting right away and spent 3 wonderful days with this lady
Today, I'm trying to finish her, and THAT is never easy to me :)

Another project I started yesterday, is a painting surface I'm preparing repurposing this chocolate box.
First thing, I sanded it gently, than covered with pieces of repurposed printer paper (my kids' old school works) using white glue
Today, I'm covering it with a layer of white latex ceiling paint and pages from an totally useless old book about the first aid :) I suppose, a couple more layers will be needed to make this pretty fragile box a good surface to paint on, but I really like transforming it.

As most of you know, Thursdays are the days of Creative Spaces. Unfortunately, I can't find the post to link to today :( If you get lucky, please, let me know it! Thank you so much!

Weekly Creative Resume

This week, I finished this fabric flower. I wanted just to replace pictures and measurements in a listing in my Etsy shop of an older flower from the same blue fabric I don't like any more, but that one has made it to a new Treasury list, so I'm not sure, what to do now :)
I'm learning a new bead weaving technique again and finished this pansy yesterday. It is my entry to this challenge. Actually, I made another flower before that, but it's hiding somewhere and don't let me shoot pictures of it. As soon, as I've recovered from tonight's line dance jamboree, there will be some more order :) Or maybe even before that :)
