Moving On

Working from home
always inspires me.
So,
We are moving on:
Me and this painting.
Both
loving,
living,
moving,
breathing,
challenging
ourselves
and
each other...
Not finished
yet.

Previous stages herehere, here, and here.

Still A Puzzle

Don't ask me, where this is heading to, because, right now, I'm not having the slightest idea. :)

Would you like to see some of the previous stages? It's possible here, here, and here .

I Love It Here

It's getting colder here. And the heating system is totally centralized and collectivized since the Soviet time, when these houses were built.

That means, the heating will be available only after certain conditions are met even for the ones, who can pay for it.

And, after that, it will be adjusted for the whole house at once and stop only in the spring. But that's not the problem for us right now.

It's pretty chill in our apartment. Our pets are moving closer to sleep.

This is the absolutely closest, as it gets. And, for each of them, this is a true act of bravery.

As it is my bed, I sleep between them as well, when I do. And love the warmth around me, especially - from the dog. Although, sometimes it's challenging, when the dog forgets herself. :)

Yes, it's fall and it's getting colder. The first snow forecast by the end of the week.

But look at all this glorious beauty I see right now in the neighborhood...

...and our house entrance...

... and a little piece of the view from my room!

You get it, why I love it here even at this time of the year, don't you? :)

(BTW: the flower shop is in the flat building on the bottom of the image.)

Beauty All Around

It's getting really beautiful here lately with the colorful foliage and all the late bloomers. As the weather is mostly really nice, I try to enjoy and capture the beauty around me, when ever I see it by daylight.

My Creative Space

Last week, I continued to create hand painted papers using monotyping, stamping, stenciling, and other techniques. It evolved into a "Four Seasons" series, and these two are my faves from Fall and Summer.

(sometimes, I really hate blogger)

Now, I'm seriously considerng to sell them as surface designs and even taking the first small steps towards it. And I have started a new series, a less colorful and organic and more grungy and urban one.

But, tonight, was a very special occasion: I could help my youngest son to do his homework in arts. He was surprisingly willing to follow my directions and we had much fun together.  Although, that still didn't beat the awesome news I received in the middle of last night: my first grandchild was born at 1am London time! :D

My Creative Space - Folk-ish Autumn Scenes

Last week, I created something almost every day: knitted a triangular scarf/shawl for my sister and collaged and painted on repurposed card board and water color paper. Do you remember the mixed media piece I started the previous week? It turned out to be a Tree on Fire.
Fancy to see some phases of the process? Check out this album!
I haven't created any portraits last week, but look at these 3 beauties enjoying their fall outfits and saying good bye to the birds! :) Not sure, if I should work more on their features or erase them, or leave them, as they are. :) What do you think? Honestly!
And I captured some of the phases of the process for you again.
And there are 2 abstract layers put down on 4 A3 sheets of water color paper meant to become cards for a swap. No pictures though not to spoil it for the receivers. ;)

My Creative Space - Gardenwork in Autumn

Weather is fresh and sunny here in Latvia lately. So I was working in my garden. It is still beautiful.

Some of the bushes and trees have got colorful leaves.

Some of the flowers are finishing, some only starting to bloom now.

Some plants have got very beautiful fruits.

But the most amazing are these strawberries, still blooming and fruiting.

The creative challenge for me is now to find some good movies on-line to watch, while preparing a large bucket of apples for a jam. :D
