Free To Feel Unfree

Today, this post by Jeff Foster greeted me on a couple of social media:
"If you feel trapped, blocked, stuck, unfree in your being right now, remember: you are absolutely free to feel this way today.
Even the feeling of stuckness, limitation, constriction is effortlessly held, allowed, embraced in the natural Freedom that you are, the Presence that is always here. Nothing and no-one can take this Freedom away from you. Even a sense of limitation cannot destroy it.
You are absolutely free to feel whatever you feel in this moment. This permission is built-in; it doesn't come from any external source. Knowing this is the key to unshakeable peace and a contentment that doesn't depend on external circumstances "going your way".
Even your sense of limitation is infinite!"

Simple, brilliant, and healthy! Feel and be well, my friend!

Our Only True Desire

How do we actually know what our real desires are?

We want to feel good. Period.

No matter what else we think or believe that we want or don't want, by the end of the day, we just want to experience a pleasurable feeling in our body.

And it is an absolutely legitimate desire that every organism on this planet has consciously or unconsciously.

Even if we are not aware of this mostly we want something because we believe it will make us feel good.

Or we want some circumstance to change "for better". How do we know it will be better? We (often unconsciously) believe that the result of the changes we desire will make us feel good.

But where does this belief come from? Especially, if we never were in those new circumstances we desire to be in?

We imagine the ideal situation around it and get a glimpse of that good feeling in our gut we believe it would give us.

This is how our imagination, believed assumptions, and gut feeling are telling us what we want and what we don't.

Many Birds With One Shot

For the last week or so, I was feeling pretty frustrated because I seemingly couldn't hold back from having snacks almost all day long, especially - in the evenings. And it went from healthy to much less healthy very fast.

And another development I was puzzled about was me not drinking enough water in spite of my knowledge about its benefits to the body and the symptoms of dehydration I recognized.

I asked my nervous system, what it's about, why is it happening. The first answer was: "You need to eat to become big and strong."

Then, we had a chat, and the system seemed to get that the world is different know, and that I have another kind of strength enough to manage my life.

But I felt that there was something else to it. Until it came during a silent meditation: it was about guilt.

The mind was quick with the "knowledge", that it was a "try to dampen the guilt I felt about my decisions that brought about the death of pets that were under my control".

But, when I looked deeper, I saw that this emotional, addictive eating was intensifying the feeling of guilt to bring it to my attention.

Because, after another unhealthy snack, I felt guilty for the damage that I caused to my body and the money I spent for it. Although I was seemingly powerless against that impulse.

Sitting in the silence, I realized, that my system was practically punishing itself for those decisions.

And, very soon, there came a reminder from the depth of my heart: those beings were supposed to be set free from their bodies at that exact moment in that exact way, and I was there to make those "decisions", because I was the one capable of that.

That lifted a huge weight from my shoulders.

The cravings haven't stopped, because the system always needs time to change it's assumptions and adjust to the heart's knowledge. And, sometimes, I still have some not so healthy snack.

But I'm not angry at the system any more. And I don't feel guilt about it. (Maybe a little bit.) Because I have decided to welcome those cravings and to use them as reminders to drink water. Feeling really good about that. :)

BRING IT ON!

It's a serene and sunny morning in my village. Only a bit more than 12 hours left for this year. I'm looking back at the year ready to pass and have to say, it has been a really splendiferous one: full of surprises and challenges and days and nights spent on-line with many beautiful souls, t.i., with you. :) And deep appreciation fills my heart for everything I have experienced this passing year, but, especially, for your friendship!

Thank you so very much for being my friend, for being there for me, when I needed your support, and letting me support you, when I felt, you needed it!

This is the spread in my art journal finished the day before my son got married at the other side of the globe to another man and two days before our new family member - the rat-girl Rosella - got babies without us knowing she was pregnant, when we took her :)
Wording: DON'T BE AFRAID!

Oh, yes, bring it on, Year 2012! With so many admirable friends there is not a thing I'm afraid of! :)

A HAPPY AND CREATIVE NEW YEAR
TO YOU AND THE YOURS!

My Creative Space - First Steps in Art Journaling

These are the stages of preparing a notebook to be my first ever art journal (whatever it means) :)

Have never thought, I'd return to paper - the medium of my childhood. Thanks to Effy Wild's generosity I'm participating in her e-course "The Elements of Art Journaling".  Registration is still open here

Having dual feelings about what I'm doing right now:
- thrilled to learn and do something new, to meet Effy and other sweet creative ladies, to forget everything over playing with my stash,
- guilty for the "waist" of supplies, time, energy just to play and grow (seemingly nothing for my classes, for sale or to wear) ...
Don't like the last ones and don't think they have any alibi to crap up my well deserved fun, but they just show me something I thought to be long gone: the fear of "wasting" and lacking of something afterwards...
Back to "work" now :)
