My Creative Space

The past 2 weeks were not easy for me with my daughter's birthday party, urgent translations to work at, and a virus my body is still fighting with. So my muse had to wait, until I had enough time and energy to serve her. That doesn't mean she was happy with that and didn't scream at me, until she got me into arting. So I made some Christmas cards

and continued working at the painting I have showed you 2 times already. It could be finished now, although this isn't the very final stage of it.

For the time being, it's almost impossible for me to show my works online, as my old cheap photo camera fairly died. My wonderful daughter in law sent me hers and I received it today, but it is a professional one, and I don't know, when I will dare to start using it. Besides, the USB cable and the instructions are missing. I hope to find the instructions online and learn at least to shoot pics soon, than I'll need to find and buy the right USB cable to upload the images to the compy. The pics you see in this post were shot with my daughter's smart phone and not very good, no matter how much I tried to edit them.

Therefore, I'll not even try to show you images of the 7(!) new cards I received from my artist friends, as they would no way do justice to the adorable miniature works of art they truly are. Please, bear with me, until I can depict them properly.

To make the waiting less hard, I can show you a piece of the winter wonderland we are living in right now (shot by my daughter and edited by me).

My Creative Space

The last one has been a really busy week for me with regular translation projects to work at and our dog girl been spayed on Thursday.

At the beginning of the week, I discovered a good amount of sea glass laying around in a box for about a year unlisted. I sorted them and shot pics of each of the batches. Although the images aren't the best because of the lack of day light, I started to list the batches one by one in this section of my supplies shop.

Don't know how, but I managed to finish the knitted set for my sister, to add some details to the new batch of cards I showed you last week, and to put some paint down on these 2 new canvas boards as well.

My Creative Space - Heaps of Joy

The whole week, I was pretty busy, but today, oh, miracle, I have a free afternoon! YAY! Just edited all the pics and can take my time to create this post. Mmmm! Bliss! And it's sunny and rather warm outside! Even more bliss! And it's a super quiet house in the middle of the school brake, as my daughter is visiting her friend. Heaps of bliss! :)

First of all, I want to show you another precious visitor, who arrived on Tuesday: It's Gnomey on his wold tour between the members of my favorite Facebook group. :)

Like I said, it has been a pretty busy week for me, so I just continued working at the pieces I had already started: reknitted the pink cap for myself, almost finished the cap for my daughter, and these 3 manadalas could be finished.

And I have started to receive painted cards from my swap partners. These are the first 3, that arrived so far.

My Creative Space

Last week, I added some more details to the cards for a swap. And I'm really starting to like, how they are turning out :)

But, mostly, I knitted this triangular scarf for my little sister.

As I really love the old Scottish pattern I figured out all by myself and the yarn (a mix of natural silk and alpaca wool), I really enjoyed the process. And the episodes of Doctor Who I was watching at the same time definitely added to the pleasure :)

But the main event of the week was no doubt the visit by one of my Facebook friends, the wonderful Canadian artist Gigi Butterfly.

Although we met for the first time in "real"  life, we felt like old friends and I cried like a baby after she left :)

My Creative Space - Cards & Deruta

Last week, I worked at 20 cards for a swap, whenever I had the energy and inspiration for that. Not to spoil the surprise for the receivers of them, I can show you only one A3 sheet with the first layers down on it before cutting, so you can get an idea about the style and technique.

New Gains

A couple of beautiful gains of mine arrived some time ago. Tonight, I feel the time is more than ripe to show them to you :)

My Creative Space - Card Swap

 Last week, I was mostly working at two love projects: Crochet a Rainbow and Valentine's Card Swap. The cards were finished and shipped yesterday, the granny squares I want to make for now will be finished soon. As they are accepted the whole year long, some more might be made, when these will be shipped already :)
